I found a dead hummingbird and buried it beneath the hibiscus with an upturned hibiscus flower to mark the spot.

Finding a hummingbird that has passed on must be akin to finding a dead fairy -- how rare! I love the E.D. poem (of course) and I never knew that cochineal was made from insects. You are always so full of interesting information, Mom.
Mom is right about finding the hummingbird. Is there a meaning to the hibiscus?
Really sad. =(
The hummingbirds like my hibiscus and are attracted to the red. It is just a beautiful flower and is suitable for burying a hummingbird.
