Dreams and Visions II

This image represents the second dream/vision I had soon after the first. After this one there were no more, but I do hope that someday I will have another. I hope you will take the time to tell me what you think that this dream/vision means as I would be very interested in what you have to say.

Hi Bobbie,

Do you have any idea of the power of these 2 mandalas you have created? They are very creative and powerful and have such a sense of depth and meaning!! I think you have found an incredible potent direction for yourself!!

It certainly seems related to the sea - between the colors and the totems. Perhaps it is about the sea as creative unity and you are immersed in that immensity and creativity of life.

How about primal feminine power of the ocean and the unconscious?

I am eager to read what others say!!

Hi Bobbie,

hmmm ... I agree with Bev's analysis rather than some comment that disappeared!

I am sure the octopus is a powerful lovely creature!

Amazing! I don't know much about dreams and don't think that I really have ever had an abstract one so I am not the person to interpret. But you have a beautiful way of showing us what you saw. This Mandela I think is my favorite so far.

Yes, this is a beautiful image with the octopus as the centre of power with the surrounding smaller creatures. The colours and textures of the mandala are also very evocative of life under the sea. It perhaps shows that there are systems, maybe ones we don't fully understand, in all ecosystems. It is all very interesting, deep in the fullest meaning of the word! (I wrote that comment but I deleted it as it was too insulting of the octopus. I think it's maybe because I've just been to see Pirates of the Carribbean 2 and the Pirate Captain, who was a baddy, looked like an octopus, so maybe they've been in my dreams too, but not in a good way!) This a fascinating departure for you and I would like to see more!

You've still got me thinking about this (now I have overcome my initial jitters about the octopus). I think it has got something to do with the power of the octopus. It is a soft bodied mollusc as are the surrounding creatures, but while they are protected by shells the octopus has none, but relies solely on its legs and movement to protect itself. It is also quite intelligent, in contrast to its tiny cousins. No wonder it features in sea lore as some sort of king of the sea. Maybe this is representative of the King of the Sea, and his little court.

I've been blown away by these last two posts, and their illustrations. I agree with the consensus here -- they are very powerful visions, even if their meaning isn't immediately clear.

When I look at them I think of harmony, connectedness, and an ever-renewing cycle of life. I would say you are blessed to be the recipient of such a message.

Maybe their "meaning" will come clear later? Things like this are sometimes like that: a incubating mystery.

This is also evocative of something vaguely remembered, Bobbie, how spooky! It reminds me of a ceramic, seen long ago, I think in Greece and I think connected in some way with Minoan culture. My memory is very wobbly, either a plaque or a plate, but the colours and the octopus really evoke this memory in my mind. Another cycle of life image. I am going to have to look up octopus and Greece to see what comes up - I might try and find a picture of the toy at the same time. How strange this feels! Do you think these are long forgotten memories? Maybe they are appearing now because they have a new significance for you? Tell us if you get any insights into them - it is so interesting.
Apart from which, Bobbie, they are both beautiful images.

How about this one? I've just been on some dream interpretation websites (I am getting quite into this) and one says that the ocean represents your unconscious, and also that if you dream of yourself as an octopus you are busy in many aspects of your life, so maybe your unconscious or creativity is very busy right now? It's all very interesting.

I am really stunned by this one, especially from the amazing technical side. Like everyone else, it evokes an ancient feeling...Please share what what see with us.

This piece is stunning. I love the colors you have chosen.

My first thought was perhaps you were being pulled in several directions at the time of your dream. I often remember my dreams but haven't done any painting based on them. You have captured much in this beautiful mandala.
