Young Woman Memory (Hold/Value)

I can't think of a better subject for hold/value than a mother holding her darling child in her arms. There is no love which can compare to the love a mother feels for her children, it is a love that transcends all. I'd love to hear your expressions of love for your mother, or for your child.

If you haven't done an art project for for 2 things challenge, you still have until Dec. 19th to do one and get a free bonus charity donation through the generosity of two bloggers. Click here to find out more and see what it is all about!

Can't get a better interpretation of the words.

Was that you? A sixties picture, and a warm soft mandala.

I remember my first baby Jack and holding him in my arms. He was put in Special Care and apart from me in the first week during the night but I kept wandering into the nursery where the nurses looked after him at night until I was sleep deprived. I woke up when I heard his own particular cry in the nursery(a mother thing). When he was with me I held him all day. He had a some operations during his first year and again the nurses thought it was best he was looked after by them but I remember him tottering along the hospital corridor to find me (at 11months, he walked at ten).

Julie, thank you for your kind words. My kids always make me feel cozy with love.

Bev, yes it's me holding Debi taken in 1959 so you were pretty close to the era. You know, I still can't hear a baby cry without feeling something pull inside me. Being a grannie now, I can go over and ooohh and ahhh over the child and be pretty harmless.

A mother's love is indescribable, it can literally take your life if it must. You give your life for your children, even when you don't have to, but you think you do. It makes my heart ache when I think about that and that this is repeated millions of times the world over. All these mothers with all these children and not always in good circumstances.

Love your picture with baby Debi. Your interpretation of the theme is simply briliant. Very moving.

Great post Bobbie! Perfect!

As for me and mine, I couldn't even begin to describe the depth of emotion that runs through me. My eldest was born at 27wks and I will never ever forget the terror I felt at the thought she might not make it. As you know she did though:) Followed 24 mnths later by my son who also came early (33 weeks.) I was so over-joyed to have a son as well as a girl I felt complete...but then came number 3 another girl 14mnths later! She was full term and I am sure God's gift of healing to me! I now know the intense joy, pride (and sometimes pain) that comes with the gift of such intense love and I'm greatful for that everyday of my life.

Off to grab tissues now...

That's my mom! Loving and devoted. And pretty, too, eh?

I'm being a little light-hearted but I couldn't agree more or be more honored to be the representative "child". [I am still your child, I know, I know. No matter how stinkin' OLD and wrinkled I get ;)]

Wonderful contribution to Hold Value.

Pink and blue...I just now got it!

Love you.

I will definitely try, but all my images are terribly depressing. I'm trying to think of something a bit more upbeat.

I love the artwork. This is so nice that you're incorporating both your photographer's eye and the spirituality of the mandala.

BTW, I linked to Blue C Recipes in my latest post (just now) - I hope it's ok.
