Secrets To Drawing Realistic Faces

OK, OK...I get the message. Here is my post finally :)

Right now I'm reading Secrets To Drawing Realistic Faces. I would recommend this book to anyone learning to draw. It is written by professional forensic artist Carrie Stuart Parks and so comes with a more technical approach to drawing. It is very easy to understand and I think I can actually do this. I will be drawing my "before" self portrait and posting it soon so you can help me compare the "before" and "after" pictures and see if her method has helped. Stay tuned!

It will be fascinating to see what you come up with and how it will be altered by the techniques you learn. Who will be your first subject? Will you work from life or a photograph?

Hi Bobbie, it is so good to get a sign of life from you.I assume all is well? I can't wait to see your drawings. By the way, are you left handed or right handed? Just curious.

Being an avid fan of gruseome CSI programs and their ilk, I never thought that there were actually "forensic" artists who would bridge their skills into the artworld. How silly of me!

I will definitely look for this book because I have always wanted to learn how to draw properly. Looking forward to your experimentations!! And welcome back!!!

Hi Bobbie,

GREAT to see you!! I have kept you in my feedreader so I am delighted to see you post!! Yippee!!

I love CSI and CSI Miami too ... so it is so cool to see this book. I don't draw that well but I sure respect those that do!!

CSI is great, but very gruesome on occasions. Snappily written.

What fun! Hope you enjoy yourself with this.

so where is the before? c'mon, we are all waiting.

Work has commenced on the "before" self-portrait. As usual, I struggle. I know something isn't right, but ask myself what is it? Proportions for sure.

"before" you draw, sharpen the pencils...yes, I am after you...good to see you up and about, mum.
