Photograph Tinting

This is my favorite picture of me and my baby brother. As you can see it was taken in 1958. I wanted to try my hand at photo tinting via Photoshop as I once worked in a studio where I tinted photos among other things. I am happy with the way this turned out, and wasn't brother cute as a button?

Love it!!! You looked not bad yourself! Love the cropped pants and the little doggie too! All looks like a great American commercial from the 50's. Very cool!

Yes, you had an adorable brother, did he grow up to be an adorable man too? You were a lot older than him, did you have to babysit a lot? I am seven years older than my baby sister and used to be her second mommy. I liked taking her around with me wherever I went.

Yes, Irene, he did grow up to be an adorable man. He was sensitive and manly and adored his big sister!

I was 2nd oldest and had 2 brothers and 2 sisters younger than me by five year increments. My oldest sister and I did a LOT of babysitting. lol.

Oh, it's lovely! it's a great effect - and has an emotional punch to it as well.

And oh, boy, were you gorgeous or what? what a great figure!

Lots of love in this pic

What a pretty girl you were, and so cheery and loving.
Know the feeling, I am 14 years older than my youngest brother. I still remind him about his horrible diapers and some of his naughty behaviour from time to time, to the amusement of his kids... Revenge is best taken cool!

PS love the tinting. I struggled with some vintage pics, wanted to get the funny effects they used to have on those old Valentine's postcards. Yours is great.

Oh my gosh, Mom, I don't remember ever seeing this picture before. It's wonderful! I love everything about it. I love the wagon, the little dog, your penny loafers, the laundry drying on the line. I love the way you "tinted" it too -- remember when you used to do that with oils and turpentine?

And of course I love best of all that it is such a sweet picture of you and Uncle Mike. I know you loved him with all your heart...even when he was a little annoying brat who needed babysitting and someone to give him a pull in his wagon.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!

This is very nice! I have always wanted to do some tinting and even bought some black & white photos from a friend with the understanding I could play at putting color in ...

this is inspiring ...

Yes, I do love him with all my heart. He was the best brother, ever.

You know, I think I like this method of tinting better. If I make a mistake it can easily be erased, where using the oils on a printed picture was more difficult.

Smart little red wagon and blue suit (you like wagons don't you, what about your wagon flower container on a previous postingLOL.) Lovely little boy and very pretty big sister. Also little dog preserved for posterity. Charming picture.
