The Piney Woods Where I Live

I live in the Piney Woods of East Texas and so it is appropriate to attempt a mandala using a picture of pines. I was surprised, as almost always, how beautiful the mandala turned out. Not complementing my work you understand, but in complementing the pine's inner beauty which produced this wonderful mandala. When the wind blows through them it makes the most wonderful whooshing sound as they sway back and forth. The squirrels love to eat the pine nuts and sometimes I find huge piles of spent pinecones where they have dined. I hope this pine speaks to you as it did to me while I was making this mandala.

I certainly speaks to me, Bobbie. I like the way you talk about the wind moving through the pines. The mandala is very beautiful and what a great subject. Who would have thought pine tress would have turned out that great? I love the color green, it is my favorite color. The mandala is so organic looking, you want to touch it and eat it.

Another lovely mandala. I like this one as it seems to have mini pine trees in a circle round the centre and such is the delicacy of the pine needles, they almost look like sparks flying, so that the mandala forms almost a piney Catherine Wheel.

Wow, I really like this one too. And I love how in the bottom corner you have a copy of the picture you started out with. Very inspiring.
